和平影都位于市中心人民广场，毗邻南京路步行街，是一家具有六十多年历史的沪上知名品牌影院，2003年底重建竣工开业。
新开业的和平影都，由上海大光明文化集团全资倾力打造，与来福士广场购物中心相邻相通，建筑面积5500平方米，有5个电影厅，973个座位，是一家集电影、餐饮、购物、休闲、观光为一体的文化娱乐休闲场所。和平影都定位时尚，主流观众多为都市白领和时尚年轻一族，现代的硬件设施和时尚化的服务成为上海电影市场一大亮点。
和平影都内设IMAX巨幕影片放映厅，是中国内地独家商业化营运、可放映DMR2D或3D故事片的巨幕影院，放映设备全部从加拿大引进，银幕高15米，宽20米，采用70MM15齿孔胶片，画面清晰度极高，且配以12000瓦的立体声音响，极具视听冲击力。
和平影都开业以来，紧贴电影市场，紧跟观影潮流，充分发挥IMAX、原版片、夜宵通宵场特色，2004年票房达到1607万元， 2005年票房2277万元，在全国影院票房排名第7位，上海名列第2位。

PEACE CINEMA
Peace Cinema is located at downtown Shanghai, adjacent to the well-known Nan Jing Road Pedestrian Street. With more than 60 years of history, the cinema was reopened to the public after renovation at the end of 2003.

The newly-opened cinema is invested and wholly-owned by Shanghai Ever Shining Culture (Group) CO , LTD. With five separate halls, all together 973 seats and covering 5500m2 floor area, the cinema becomes a relaxing and entertainment center combing movies, catering, shopping and sight-seeing . It mainly attracts white-collars and fashionable young people in the city with its advanced equipment and stylish service.

Peace Cinema is the only commercial cinema in China provided with IMAX screen. All its projection equipment is introduced from Canada. The 15-meter-long and 20-meter-wide screen proves to be very impressive to audiences.

To be market-oriented, the cinema has the edge on its rivals by providing IMAX movies, films of original version and all-night movies. Its box office stood at 16.07 million RMB yuan in 2004 and rose to 22.77 million RMB yuan in 2005, ranked as the seventh nationwide and the second in Shanghai.
